This is Belle
An actual cloned cat
Clone. Kitty. That doesn’t mean a cat that looks like another cat by happenstance. Belle was literally cloned from the DNA of my late cat, Chai. Their DNA profiles are identical thanks to the work of ViaGen Pets, the only commercial cloning facility in the United States. Read on for more about her story and process.

Temperament
Belle's temperament is the exact same as Chai's was. Both bold, sassy cats.
Personality
They share some similar traits, but Belle is very much her own cat. Check it out here.
Different markings
Belle has far less color on her face and coat than Chai did.
Bond
Belle and I have a different bond than I had with Chai. It's not a bad thing!
Meow
Meowing is a learned behavior. They have very different meows due to environment.
Behaviors
They do share some similar behaviors, like the way they sleep against me at night.
